RTD: Zero Fare August 2022

During the entire month of August, RTD will offer zero fares across its system as part of the Zero Fare for Better Air initiative.

This collaborative, statewide initiative, made possible by Colorado Senate Bill 22-180, in partnership with the Colorado Energy Office, is designed to reduce ground-level ozone by increasing the use of public transit. Current RTD customers will also benefit as they will not have to use or purchase fare products from August 1-31, during Colorado’s high ozone season.

You can find out more about this initiative at the following link: https://www.rtd-denver.com/zerofare

If you want help planning your RTD route, you can view schedules here: https://www.rtd-denver.com/app/schedules

or

Mobile phone apps such as Google Maps and Apple Maps also have a way to help plan out routes as well! When getting directions to your location simply choose the icon that looks like a train 🚆 (other icons you may see are driving 🚗, cycling 🚲, walking 🚶‍♂️ to list a few). This will let you know times, train/bus lines, and approximate schedule.

And although you won't need it for August, there's also a handy RTD app that lets you purchase tickets directly from your phone! That information can be found here: https://www.rtd-denver.com/fares-passes/mobile-ticketing

You can purchase tickets for immediate use or purchase in advance for future travel. It’s fast, easy, and available any time you’re on the go. I personally have found it very useful! It's also extremely safe to use, especially considering the past stories about credit card skimmers being found at RTD ticket kiosks.
