“Pay-as-you-throw” trash format passed by Denver City Council

FV Resident, Gail Bell, was on the Denver City Council Zoom Monday night where they approved the plan to start charging for Trash pickup beginning in January, 2023.

She said there was a huge turnout of young people all wearing green t-shirts. Older folks spoke up, too, and were also concerned about the health of our planet, but also worried about the additional fees to come starting next January. There will be some fee structure put in place to identify those families who will require some financial support. The new plan will also include additional educational information for the public.

Councilwoman, Amanda Sawyer, District 5, also sent out a comprehensive email that laid out the details of the plan.
