Susan Cotter and her committee have been working hard on the upcoming art show. There are several resident artists that have committed to show their crafts. With free admission, free raffle, refreshments, and an opportunity to enjoy your neighbors’ creative endeavors, this is an event you will not want to miss. Join in on the fun Saturday, Aug. 27th from 12:00 – 3:00 PM.
We have some upcoming classes in September that we are promoting. Jeri Brabetz has generously volunteered to teach crochet to interested residents. She will teach a series of three two-hour classes for beginners. Learn how to crochet hats, scarves and blankets for Christmas giving or to donate to the Denver Rescue Mission. The classes are free and all supplies are provided. Learn a new skill, meet new people, and enjoy the rewards of your efforts. Class size will be limited, so look for sign up information in upcoming new letters.
Flower crushing is a new activity we will experience together in September. Using a rubber mallet or hammer we will pound real flowers onto printing paper. The result will be a beautiful, colorful image of the flowers that can be framed, used as a card or gift wrap. You cannot make a mistake with this activity and the results are amazing!
There is always something fun to do at Creative Endeavors.
Velvet pumpkins, paper poinsettias, quilting and unique handmade Christmas cards will be featured in coming months. We are looking to our residents for art and craft ideas for group projects or to share their special skills and knowledge.
